Having known Sheila for almost 37 years, all of that as part of a local NCT group, first as young mums with demanding babies then as the parents of often wayward teenagers and finally as grandparents, my memories of her are many and varied. She was creative, sporty – I found it hard to keep up with her on long runs, she was adaptable, forthright and pragmatic but above all, she was immensely kind. It has been a great privilege to know her and to be her friend. I will miss her.
