Spring Floral Demonstration

(with an Easter twist)

Our Spring Flower Demonstration was a delightful afternoon event held at the beautiful Cuffley Hall with Gill McGregor.

In case you didn’t know, Gill is an award-winning international floral designer, tutor and author. If you haven’t been to one of our Flower Demos with Gill, I’m going to let you into a little secret – it’s nothing you’d expect. But in all the good ways.

Gill takes centre stage and talks extensively about each arrangement and shares her tips. Within this, she tells us some very entertaining stories. And these are the best stories. The audience are in fits of laughter throughout the show. We were welcomed to a story about her trip to Japan and accidently living off mozzarella cheese salads for a week and a boy named Frenchie who decided to take a little dive into a very dirty lake. It’s almost like a comedy show with floral arrangements. A duo we didn’t know we needed, but absolutely loved.

The arrangements were truly the most beautiful things and received a lot of “WOWs” from the audience. Some highlights were a pink and white floral dining table display with an edible chocolate bunny and a beautiful spring arrangement which included a rabbit and edible carrots.

It was National Cleaning Week and National Something on a Stick Day (it’s real, I promise), and you wouldn’t expect anything less than for Gill to gather inspiration for her arrangement. Feather dusters, J Cloths and bin liner flowers on sticks, and kitchen sponges among the flowers.

Each of the arrangements had a “here’s one (or two) I’d done earlier” moment, so a total of 17 beautiful arrangement were ready to find their new owners in our raffle.

If you’re having major FOMO, we will be having another Festive Flower Demonstration in December so keep a lookout for that.

Thank you so much to Hayley’s for the mouth-watering afternoon spread, the staff and volunteers for putting on a wonderful event, and all the attendees for helping us raise £.
