Group Activities alleviate feelings of isolation and loneliness
Taking part in group activities lift your spirits and makes you feel more positive. They also allow you to meet people in a similar situation to you, so you can talk freely and openly about what you’re going through. The aim of all of our activities is to make you feel like you again.

Almost a quarter of men say they have never spoken to a friend or relative about cancer.
We’re working with The Errol McKellar Foundation to break the talking taboo and open the floor for men to talk in a confidential and safe place. Our quarterly seminars are a chance to discuss all things prostate, for men to ask questions, share their experiences and gain support from others in their situation.
Upcoming Seminars at our centre, all starting at 2pm are:
- Tuesday 18th February
- Tuesday 13th May
- Tuesday 19th August
- Tuesday 18th November
If you want to join any of our seminars, call 020 8366 4333

Created by four Nightingale clients who found through their cancer journey that there was nothing quite like talking to someone in their shoes Though family and friends were sympathetic during their cancer journey, it was hard to expect them to understand exactly how they were feeling. And so The Coffee Club began! At the Coffee Club you can have a cuppa, some cakes and mix with people on a similar journey to you. Make new friends with people who know how you feel and understand what life with cancer is like

We’re thrilled to work with Look Good Feel Better to offer men and women workshops that boost your physical and emotional wellbeing. They provide workshops covering skincare and make-up; grooming; hair loss, haircare and wig advice and nail care. The workshops are about having fun! They are informal, relaxed and informative, giving you the chance to meet others in a similar situation. It’s a time for you to focus on yourself – and not cancer.

Come for a knit and stay for a natter. The rhythmic motion of knitting can distract you from the symptoms of anxiety, stress and depression. The repetitive movements have even been found to have the same benefits to your mind and body as a meditation session. It doesn’t matter if you’re a knitting beginner or a professional all are welcome to join Knit and Natter. This group gives you a chance to practice and perfect your knitting skills, make friends and boost your mental health. Plus, it doesn’t matter if you like nattering than knitting!
Knit and Natter are currently heading up Stitches of Support, a community project that takes knitted squares from the public and creates blankets for clients going through cancer treatment. The blankets act as a reminder that people aren’t going through this journey alone, their Nightingale community is with them. Learn more about Stitches of Support here.
