Bush Hill Park Bowls Club
We are delighted that the Bush Hill Bowls V Dennyside charity bowls day raised £5,150!
“Our thanks to the brilliant Dennyside players for the great match and donation! And thanks to our wonderful Club members and members of the public for your kind donations. For those who do not know, Dennyside Bowling Association has the main objective of helping bowling clubs raise monies for local charities and worthy causes. At Bush Hill Park Club, we are honoured to be able to support such a worthy cause as The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre charity. Alongside Dennyside, we aim to raise as much as possible to enable the team there to continue with the wonderful work they do for people affected by cancer, and their families. If you would like to make an online donation now, please see our JustGiving page.”
A big thank you to Bush Hill Park Bowls Club for organising such a tremendous event. The Nightingale are continually overwhelmed by the support received from Bush Hill Park Club and by extension, Harrison Funeral Home. They continue to keep our charity at the forefront of their minds when fundraising or having events. It truly is great to have the support of such a pillar in our community. Nick, CEO and Andy, Finance and Governance Manager, had a wonderful time at the charity bowls day. They met more people in the community and were able to thank the very people helping us in person.
Andy had so much fun he signed up as a Bowls Club Member there and then. We fully expect him to be playing at the next charity day!
We also share the Bush Hill Bowls thanking of Deepak Tanna, President of Bowls England and Mayor of Enfield, Suna Hurman for their support throughout the day.
Mark Catchpole, Bowls Captain, says of the day, “Bush Hill Park Club has been a supporter of The Nightingale for many years now. It’s such a wonderful and important charity, helping so many people in Enfield when they are diagnosed with cancer, and their families. Indeed, some of our members have first-hand experience of this support. So we recognise how vital it is to support The Nightingale and plan to continue to do so.”
This certainly isn’t the first time Bush Hill Park Club have supported The Nightingale.
They raised almost £500 through their Jubilee celebrations. Harrison Funeral Home then match-funded and rounded the figure up, bringing the grand total to £1,000! The Harrison Funeral Home Managing Director, Mark Catchpole, with the team from Bush Hill Park Club, presented a cheque for £1,000 to our Trustee Joanne Laban.
